The Qualities Of My Fullest Potential
We do what we do to feel a certain way. For example, when we are stressed or overwhelmed, we might share what we are feeling with someone trustworthy. Or we might go smoke a cigarette. We do this so that we can change how we feel.
I started Project 52 - my system of health-enhancing habits - because I want to rekindle and regain my sense of energy, power, and freedom. Cultivating these qualities (and more) is why I have started building these habits.
Having focus and clarity is something I’ve struggled with for the past few years. It’s been challenging as I’ve been caught up with anxiety and overthinking.
When your mind is constantly buzzing this way, you start valuing peace of mind. The gap between the thoughts and uncomfortable feelings becomes blissful. The practice of meditation and mindfulness helps me attain this quality.
The uncomfortable thoughts and feelings have been overwhelming on many occasions. I have been rendered powerless more times than I can imagine. Doing the Wim Hof method and my incantation has helped me feel empowered and dominant.
The mind uses up a lot of energy. For me, it even takes the energy that would otherwise be needed for important functions like digestion. This lowers my fitness levels and gives me digestive problems. The habits of running, yoga, and weight training make me feel energetic and empowered.
We all know the power of gratitude. With the worrisome and negative thoughts lingering in my head, being thankful for whatever life has to offer gives me happiness and joy. This is one practice that has kept me cheerful and positive.
Habits like reading and journaling fill me with wisdom, perspective and belief in myself. There are people out there with struggles of their own. Their ideas and wisdom fill me with insight and keep me going.
The food and beverages we consume influence our physical and mental well-being. I track everything I eat and drink. It’s not about restricting myself to a diet, but rather about being mindful of my choices.
Off late I know I have not been regular with the newsletter. Some of you have told me how it positively impacts you and that I must keep writing. I have added it to my system of habits and look forward to being more consistent.
Very recently I have added the habit of no social media Fridays. Friday, in the Catholic tradition, is a day of fasting or sacrifice. I chose to stay off social media till 6 pm in the evening. This has a power of its own and I am starting to feel it.
