What Do You Look Forward To?
It is necessary to have something to look forward to in life.
A large part of what makes my life meaningful is having a sense of responsibility. This responsibility is towards various aspects of my life. However, I feel this the most towards my physical, mental, and spiritual health. It is my journey and solely my responsibility to build myself into someone who is energetic, powerful, and free.
It could be something different for you. Maybe, building healthy and happy relationships or making meaningful contributions in life is what you feel responsible towards. Whatever it is that we look forward to, we get an understanding of what matters to us.
Going through hard times is a natural part of being human. If there is something that has helped me channel my inner fire and shift my state from low and miserable to high and energetic, it is having something to look forward to.
This could be a choir commitment, football, writing, or just engaging with my system of habits to take care of my health. This is what I use as leverage to break the existing patterns of anxiety that I have.
The feeling of being in flow, doing what we love, is unmatchable. Even accomplishing a task makes us feel content and happy. In addition to making our lives meaningful, it helps us get through the tough times. Imagining the possibility of being involved with something is itself enough to push through the challenges.
Most importantly, we will have something powerful to be grateful for.
Feeling responsible for something, especially in these unprecedented times, is extremely crucial. It will not only keep us occupied but bring in a feeling of ease and calm.
We need to explore further and find what we value. If there is any area in our life that needs some improvement, let us take responsibility for that. Not only will our personal lives improve, but our community shall grow as a result.
