My journey so far has been quite serendipitous in terms of advancement in career. I say serendipitous because soon after I graduated from college, I got a job as a public speaking trainer. Now that the traditional schooling method hasn’t resumed, I have a content writing job that keeps me engaged. It just fell in place.
Although I am occupied with something that is worthwhile and engaging, I am still exploring. They say that when you do something you love, work will seem like play. It might be with this job or with something else, but that is my end goal.
My brother continues to mentor me with my career goals. I was also guided by a few of my lecturers from college, for which I am truly grateful.
What I’m trying to convey is, when you wish to do what you truly desire, the universe will meet you halfway, as long as you put in the effort. You will reap the rewards sooner or later. After all, you only get this one shot at life. Rather enjoy it and do things that soothe your soul.
This powerful quote reminds me time and again that I need to slow down and not get lost in a rat race. Doing this gives me the space to cut out on unnecessary things that hinder progress and optimize on what really matters.
Sitting and overthinking what we ought to do will do no good. Instead, we must be on a quest that involves taking action - go out and explore the field of possibilities.
When we combine our potential with what the world needs at that point in time, we become useful in the best possible way. Work becomes effortless and we know we are in the right place.
