“Goals are about the results you want to achieve. Systems are about the processes that lead to those results.” — James Clear
Growing up, the last thing I expected was running into mental health trouble. I felt that having an active life wouldn’t land me in such a situation. However, while life was happening on the outside, the turmoil was slowly building up on the inside.
Ever since things went sideways, I had no consistency with the habits that I wanted to cultivate. But I knew that being consistent was the only way I could build health-enhancing habits that would change the course of my life.
That’s when Project 52 came in — a system of habit tracking that facilitates habit building. I’ve been tracking my habits for 26 weeks now. The consistency with which I have been putting out this newsletter every week is a great example of how much progress I have made!
“The most reliable way to change your life is by not changing your entire life. If you try to change everything all at once, you will quickly find yourself pulled back into the same patterns as before. But if you merely focus on changing one specific habit and work on it until it becomes part of your normal day, you will find your life changes naturally as a side effect. Improve the whole by mastering one thing.” — James Clear
Having a growth mindset kick-started my journey of healing. I didn’t want to stay in the same miserable place that I was in a few years back. There was an opportunity of having an improved quality of life, and I took it.
With the Project 52 system in place, I am taking action like never before! There is less overthinking and more doing. Being in action in this way is having an effect on other areas of my life, like my relationships and my career.
Showing up to my habits when there is resistance has been important. I am grateful for showing up because it has all added up to how I feel today. And I’m feeling a lot better than I did just last year!
I will never be alone on this journey of personal development. Having a community of people who hold each other accountable and show up as friends in need has been a blessing.
I look forward to everything that life has in store for me!
In closing, I want to take this moment to appreciate and thank:
my brother, the mastermind behind Project 52, for having my back at all times.
my parents for their constant love and support.
my close friends and the habit builders community.
all the resources that have helped me.
you, for being you!
