If life went the way we wanted it to, we would never reach our full potential.
Accepting change, especially when it isn’t pleasant, is challenging. It can feel like we are robbed of something we thought was here to stay. But like Steve Jobs said, “You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever.
I have struggled with accepting change. The main reason for this struggle was being strongly attached to the comforts of life. This attachment not only made it hard for me to accept change, but it made me feel resentful and impatient.
It was not long ago that I found meaning in change and suffering. This has helped me make good art — I wouldn't be writing this newsletter if it wasn’t for the unpleasantness of life.
Life will play out the way it is meant to, and this is exactly why we need to go easy on ourselves. Being too harsh or self-critical won’t make things any better. The first step to progress is being aware of the change and accepting it.
Change happening early on helps us reach our full potential faster. When we put ourselves out there, we are choosing to be vulnerable and we will make mistakes. But these mistakes can help us grow and realize that this was the path we were always meant to take.
Going out of our comfort zones will show us what we are capable of as human beings — untapped potential, waiting to be unleashed!
